Economic Empowerment of IDPS

This project seeks to support the livelihood efforts of young people between 25 -and 35yrs who are internally displaced and now living in Douala particularly Bonaberi, as a means to break the financial vulnerability net influencing Young people being victims of abuse and their participation in crimes, through tested financial literacy and stability methods for the enhancement of Financial inclusion and community development.

AYEF Economically Empowered 10 Internally Displaced Persons(1 male and 9 women) within the locality of Bonaberi, with Financial literacy skills and seed capital to boost existing small businesses. We followed them up for 3 months helping them grow their business until it thrived. Out of the 10 IDPs, 8 of them successfully grew their businesses and were able to support their families. We equally supported their children with learning materials and some received school fees, this helped them not to usurp their business capital for other purposes. This project has successfully come to an end for this year and we look forward to adopting a more holistic approach to Economic Empowerment next year, as we reach out to more internally displaced persons.
